A Hudson Valley woman was charged with vehicular manslaughter more than two years after an alleged DWI crash that killed a 65-year-old bicyclist and mother of two.
Vanessa Lowe, age 62, of Kingston, was arrested Thursday, April 3, after an Ulster County grand jury indicted her in connection with the death of Christine Tarasco.
Lowe was behind the wheel of a Honda Accord when she struck Tarasco as she rode her bicycle along Pine Grove Avenue in Kingston on Dec. 27, 2022, according to prosecutors.

Local, state, and county law enforcement agencies are setting up a staging area along a busy West Baltimore street, police confirmed.
Police, including SWAT teams, reportedly blocked off multiple blocks in the area of Druid Hill Avenue near the YMCA, at approximately 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29.

Paterson police arrested a city man who they said stabbed another to death at the YMCA on Friday.
Jasmir Cleaves, 32, was charged with murder and weapons possession following his arrest shortly before 7 p.m., authorities said.
Cleaves had stabbed Gabrae Sams, 29, on the fifth floor of the Y, on Ward Street, around noon Friday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora said in a joint announcement.
No motive was given.
