A stubbed toe has led to a Warren County woman being hospitalized for tetanus.
On Wednesday, April 15, Peyton Hartfelder-Denney, an Asbury resident, was gardening when she stubbed her toe, resulting in a small cut her big toe. She quickly cleaned the wound.
But 10 days later, she began experiencing severe jaw pain, muscle stiffness, and back pain, but multiple doctors dismissed her concerns as anxiety, according to a fundraiser established by her sister, Nicquelle Denney.
