A longtime Maryland softball coach is behind bars after being arrested on child sex abuse charges, authorities announced.
Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit arrested 59-year-old Michael J. Pusateri on a warrant charging him with rape, assault, sex abuse of a minor, and soliciting child pornography, officials said Tuesday, Sept. 9.
Pusateri, of Baltimore County, has an extensive background in coaching, officials said.

Child, Parents Dead In Catonsville Double Murder-Suicide, Police Say (Updated)
New details have been released by police in Maryland after a child and two adults were found dead in an apparent double murder-suicide in Baltimore County, authorities confirmed.
Officers were called at around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, to the 700 block of Wilton Farm Drive, where there was a reported call for service, according to police.
Upon arrival, officers found Chantel Sharieff, 42, suffering from traumatic injuries, along with her 6-year-old child, Kimana Sharieff, who had sustained a gunshot wound.

'Baltimore County Not Sanctuary Jurisdiction' Exec Says After Being Named By DOJ
The US Department of Justice has officially named just one Maryland city in its newly released list of “sanctuary jurisdictions” — and it's joined only by Washington, DC, as the only two locations in the DMV region.
The list, published Tuesday, Aug. 5, by the DOJ, includes states, cities, and counties the federal government says have “policies, laws, or regulations that impede enforcement of federal immigration laws.”
“Sanctuary policies impede law enforcement and put American citizens at risk by design,” said US Attorney General Pamela Bondi in the announcement.
